CRAB CLUB | ETHICAL MISSION STATEMENT

Building a more sustainable future for recreational crabbing

Crab Club is a West Wales-based community project promoting eco-friendly, family-focused crabbing.

Our mission: protect coastal ecosystems, cut plastic waste, and get people outside through low-impact, accessible activities.

We’re building fun, nature-focused experiences that bring kids and families closer to the outdoors. Right now, we’re seeking partners and sponsors who value sustainability, coastal care, and youth engagement.

Core Goal: Sustainable Crabbing Gear

Our main focus is redesigning crabbing gear to replace cheap, disposable plastic kits.

We're working on a range that is:

  • Durable and reusable

  • Made from recycled marine materials (e.g., old nets and ropes)

  • Safe and fun for kids and families

  • Locally made or ethically sourced

We're exploring collaborations with circular economy groups and clean-up crews to turn marine waste into long-lasting gear.

Community Projects
Beyond gear, we’re building:

  • A user-powered Crab Map to find the best locations and to log your top spots and tips

  • A free, illustrated Crabbing Guide for safe, eco-friendly fun

  • Educational content (social posts, zines, posters) connecting kids to marine ecology

  • Shoreline meetups and creative community events

What We Need

To bring these ideas to life, we’re looking for:

  • Sustainable materials experts

  • Small-batch manufacturers

  • Eco-conscious family brands

  • Environmental funders

  • Coastal orgs with aligned missions
